Install Rain
Download a pre-built binary for macOS or Linux, or build from source if you have repo access.
Releases are published to the public rain-releases repo. The install script detects your OS and CPU, downloads the matching tarball, and puts the rain binary in ~/.local/bin.
After install, add that directory to your PATH if the script tells you to. Then run rain hello.rn from anywhere: same idea as node script.js.
Install (latest release)
Download the newest binary with the install script and add it to your PATH.
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/yugal109/rain-releases/main/install.sh | sh
export PATH="$HOME/.local/bin:$PATH"
rain --versionoutput
rain 0.1.0
Pin a version
Install a specific release by setting `RAIN_VERSION` before running the script.
RAIN_VERSION=0.1.0 curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/yugal109/rain-releases/main/install.sh | sh
export PATH="$HOME/.local/bin:$PATH"
rain --versionVerify
Confirm the binary works: print version, run a file, or open the REPL.
rain --version
rain hello.rn
rainManual download
Grab a tarball directly from GitHub if you prefer not to use the script.
